An email from a reader
(this is my joke)
Setup: I am almost 40 years old, so I run into a lot of GenY and later GenX crowds that don’t know the Beatles, Depeche Mode or Rush or anything like classic rock… but this works for anything… pong, atari, long division, analog clocks, cassettes, LPs, pretty much if its before the mid-90s right now, they have no idea what I am talking about.
So when I talk to them about this and they get that puzzled look, I say “I must be dating myself again.”
“It used to be good, but like most relationships, we stopped seeing each other socially and we have split up.”
“Still, like most broken relationships, every once in a while I get to have sex with my ex.”
-It’s no fun spelling it out for them, they either get it, or they don’t.
By the way, you can end it before the last line and it is still funny (PG version)
